Galiya Abdurakhmanova was born in Karakalpakstan in 1956. She graduated from the Ashgabad School of Arts and the Tashkent Institute of Theatre and Arts.

 

Creative activity of Galiya is the constant process of comprehending the delicate, ever changing and charming with a mystery egocentrical model of being. Hence the direction of her paintings towards the style of modern and mystical.

 

Galiya says that "The road to development and destruction is equally complicated and simple, beautiful and horrible, ever interesting and incomprehensible"

 

Galiya took part in republican exhibitions and those in Moscow, Riga, Saint-Petersburg, International exhibition "ArtMyth-II" in Moscow. Her works are found in private collections in the USA, France, Germany, Denmark, etc.
